Reverse sonar/sensor/parking assist broken - help

I have searched the forum + handbook extensively and not seen this issue.

Looks like someone bumped into my rear (that's the wife's story, and she's sticking to it!) now the sensor beeps twice, waits 2 seconds, beeps twice, 2 secs, etc..... and does not function.

I have checked the wiring as best as i could, checked the IG1 fuse, all seem OK, any ideas?? Or is it knackered.

Thanks in advance

I'm having a similar issue with mine. I'm interested to see replies as well.

If it's been bumped, then there are two possibilities A) the wiring needs to be re-seated on the back of the sensor, or B)the sensor itself needs to be replaced. If you haven't actually disconnected the wire from the sensor then re-connected it, that would be my first step. You will need to remove the rear bumper to get at the sensors, but it's literally a 10 minute job to pull the bumper. If after disconnecting and reconnecting everything you're still having an issue then it sounds like you'll want to replace the sensor.

One note, I have a sensor that got water in it during some wet wheeling then froze and hasn't worked right since. Mine doesn't do the two beeps then nothing, I actually have a solid tone the entire time when I turn the sensors on just like you would if you disconnected one of the two sensors. Those bad boys have been off for over two years because I didn't have the money at the time to replace them, and now I'm so used to not using them that I figure I don't need them.

Re: Reverse sonar/sensor/parking assist broken - help

I haven't used mine since the first week I bought the truck. Way too sensitive for my tastes, and it was always turning itself off.
