Re: Door Locks don't lock automatically?

Mine's an '08 - Doesn't lock. Like it that way. It generally annoys me when machines do things I don't ask them to do... I roll in the mountains. I live in the mountains. My FJ stays unlocked at home - all the time. The empty pistol holster mounted on the passenger side of the console indicates to no-gooders that the pistol is somewhere nearby! Feeling lucky?

Why haven't we just reached the point where we can plug in to the UBDII and just set the timer/trigger electric signal setting ourselves? It's almost 2013 for goodnes sake!

I think it's about time we can connect our computers to the friggin' cars and see everything: diagnosis, codes, programming, etc.

Although, I have noticed the rear door re-locks, so at least you only have to shoot to your left or right

Re: Door Locks don't lock automatically?

I personally hate auto locks. What a pain in the a$$ they would be out wheeling where your jumping in and out of the vehicle all the time. Having to unlock the freaking door every time my co-pilot had to jump in/out just because I started the FJC or went over XX MPH would get silly fast.

The freaking seat belt alarms were bad enough, but at least there is a way to disable them.

It is what it is, a great all around vehicle that's a blast to drive anywhere, regardless of the dents and scratches!

I hate the auto locks in my wife's car. Every time I let her out I have to unlock the door because grabbing the handle doesn't automatically unlock the door. It also sucks because the door lock and unlock button is in the center if the dash. ('10 Equinox) I agree. The FJ is made for the mountains. Not the hood.

Totally agree .

On a side note, I was driving my friend's 07 AT FJ and it would auto lock when shifted out of park.

OK, I don't knew why, but when I get in, and close the door, and turn the engine on, my FJ doors lock. For real. Could there be something with the KARR alarm they have in there? It definitely does this.
