Re: FJ towable ?

only with a flatbed trailer. This would actually be the best option as there would be no wear/miles put on the FJ and the tires. The flatbed trailers that haul vehicles aren't that heavy.

Re: FJ towable ?

There's a thread by a member named Sweeten titled First trip towing with motorhome. He's has pictures of his behind his motorhome in the gallery under his name and in the thread and is using a system by Remco on his FJ.

Re: FJ towable ?

Remco drive shaft disconnect works great if properly installed. Use a push-pull cable installed inside along side of the transmission center. Use a Brakemaster tow bracket and a Brakemaster aux brake system. Took a little effort but well worth it to have the FJ with us all the time.

We are full time RVers and are presently in Zion NP. Great back roads here and beautiful scenery. Also lots of geocaches atop mesas. You young working people can only dream of doing this sometime in the future.

Re: FJ towable ?

I live in DC, and they frequently "relocate" vehicles for protests, parades, motorcades, etc., in addition to major parking violations. I live in constant fear of coming out of my apartment to find my FJ has been towed, and of the subsequent driveline damage. DC DMV has told me they aren't liable for any damage. God, I hope that never actually happens!
