i just installed my trailer hitch and part of the installation required me to disconnect the parking assist wiring. i got everything disconnected fine and then reinstalled all the parts after getting the oem hitch installed, but now when i put it in reverse it just beeps continuously. anyone else have this happen or know how to fix it?
i did a search, but didn't come up with anything related to this.
I had the same problem with mine. Apparently, if it has been disconnected, it needs to be 're-calibrated'. The dealer took care of it N/C in about ten minutes.
i didn't disconnect the battery during the install. i will go try that and see if that works. if is needs to be re-calibrated then i will be going to dealership and it shouldn't cost me anything since my dad is a tech.
I disconnected mine to install a Warn rear bumber, and then reconnected them a couple weeks later, had no problems at all, did not need to disconnect the battery or recalibrate. I tested them and they work same as before.

My Fj got rear ended and now put it in reverse it beeps continuously. I know one for sure is broken. Maybe a conection is dirty, clean and reconect.
Any chance that you accidentally got some debris or something on the outside of the sensors themselves?? If they're even partially covered, the sensor will think it's backed up towards something.
