The scratches just mean you aren't just using your truck to cruise for high school girls at the mall. Show them with pride and go get some more scratches!
x2!! Now, get some matching scratches on the outside to show us that you know what the FJ was really built for.

Re: Interior Trunk Scratches

Yeah, I've got my exterior well pinstriped, and some worse than pinstripes.

But the interior plastics still blow.

Re: Interior Trunk Scratches

I'm with Cameron-put a 100# lab in there and drive around. If you have a pug or one of the other little dogs that prove that God has a sense of humor, put a couple of concrete blocks back there. The scratches all blend together and state that it is a real utility/off road vehicle.
You have got to get over the show room condition thing so you can use the FJ as designed. It ain't no mall ornament.
IMHO-my thought processes could be twisted to support my guilt in using my FJ.

Re: Interior Trunk Scratches

I expect wear and tear back there - I would imagine if I bought something obscenely impractical like an Escalade I would care more.

Cameron, your yellow lab looks just like our 90# wonder--glad yours is 100#, now Sally can stay off the diet dog food--she can catch a thrown spicy Cheeze-it from 20 yards BTY. I am working on that skill myself. Got to stay entertained in this August heat, you understand.

Cool - I love labs, this one is actually a yellow lab / white german shepherd (we think) cross, got him from the SPCA at one year old. 3 families had returned him because he was hyper and jumped up. Not sure why they wouldn't think that kind of dog didn't need love and lots of working out.

Anyways, we actually have a service that picks him up 5 days a week for 4+ hours a day and goes and lets him swim or hike in the mountains nearby. We take him out early in the morning for a run, then at night go for a few good walks or throw the ball - or I practice bird recovery with him. He enjoys duck hunting, the 2 times we went with him

On the weekends he gets us out rain or shine to enjoy the outdoors. He loves the FJ, wishes the rear suicide door windows open - but I tell him once he starts contributing to payments then we can get those doors retrofitted. He has a harness that plugs into the seat belts. He is 5 years old now, and solid muscle and extremely fit. He likes swimming the best I think.

Re: Interior Trunk Scratches

Great animal-I am just amazed how they are hard wired to swim. It is just a passion for them. I have duck hunted with labs in the past-ours is a 4 y/o family pet and is outstanding with our 8 y/o daughter.
We take her to the lake and I can't catch her swiming. She can pull my daughter and me through the water at an impressive speed.
I tell everyone that if you get a lab or lab mix, you will never consider any other breed of dog.
Back to thread--their fur really sticks to the FJ seats doesn't it?

Re: Interior Trunk Scratches

Yes, his whitish fur is everywhere. I have a pretty kick ass vacuum though (A Eureka Boss). Its funny, I can be 4000 miles away in a tropical paradise with all new swimming trunks, shirts, flip-flops... barely anything from home. And I will still find his hair

Hah, cracks me up every time.

Re: Interior Trunk Scratches

That's great-I too find dog hair on business trips, etc-even from some pets that died years ago. It always makes me smile. I like the old proverb, "God help me be the person my dog thinks I am"
Got to love the furry beasts!
