Unhappy Interior Trunk Scratches

Whats up all this is my first post on these forums so dont be to harsh on me if this is an easy question to awnser.

Ive had my FJ since March of this year and love it to death but recently ive noticed that from throwing my golf clubs in and out of the trunk (im putting them in long ways with the 2seats down) on the back of the seats (the plastic part) has become tremendously scratched. Now I also had some scratches on the main part of the trunk floor but they wiped away easily with some ammonia and water, but no luck with the ones on the back of the seat.

So I was wondering if anyone new any substance that can either..
a) get rid of these nasty scratches (note there not deep they look exactly like someone took a piece of chalk and just ran it across the plastic)
or...
b) if there is any substance on the market or web that I can buy to recover the scratches or spray over them

any help would be greatly appreciated
thank!!

Re: Interior Trunk Scratches

Mine is scratched to hell and back from various crap. I don't really care since the paint matches. It's all part of an FJ.

Re: Interior Trunk Scratches

I've had my FJ for like 3 weeks and all the interior parts seem to be scratched, I would just get used to it. The interior plastic is obviously tremendously easy to scratch.

Re: Interior Trunk Scratches

My dealer delivered my car to my door with the extra five mounted tires on wheels in the back seat, with the rear seats holded down. The five mounted tires were packed so tight, I had a tough time getting them out. When I did, I could see the scratches all over the rear seat sections. They could have, should have, would have put plastic down, that would have been nice.

I use the FJ for work, so, at some point, I would have scratched the interior plastic, however, it would have been nice to do the damage myself!

My $0.02 worth!

Re: Interior Trunk Scratches

Has anyone done any kind of spray in liner back there?

Re: Interior Trunk Scratches

I have scratched mine up with shovels, axes and camping gear. The seat backs are so scratched up they turned light gray. I just bought the elemat that covers the entire back of the FJ. I did not care about the scratched as much as how everything slid around. The elemat has a bad rubber smell so I guess I will take it out and let it air out on the pool deck for the weekend.

Re: Interior Trunk Scratches

I have a large 100 pound dog, put in and out lots of gear, helped moved cheap friends into their house - 1 year later (almost) and no scratches.

Anyways - a friend in Boston with a titanium FJ (his last vehicle was the Element hehe) bought these and said they also worked well in the Element which also tended to scratch, like any SUV or anything plastic - if you put in something that is harder than the plastic - it will scratch.

Try these, they work www.elemmat.com (they don't know what they are doing with their web server)

Re: Interior Trunk Scratches

The scratches just mean you aren't just using your truck to cruise for high school girls at the mall. Show them with pride and go get some more scratches!
