Re: Garage door opener...what do you guys think?

Button availability. I found Radio Shack has several momentary contact switches. Some (red or black cover) even look like yours. You push it like the opener's own button, and let go. If you don't see these at Radio Shack, ask. They are usually in a parts drawer in the back of the store. Cost varies, but is usually between $2 & 4. These are round, so usually a simple drilling of a blank FJ switch mount is all that is needed.

Again, thanks for the original idea, impetus. Rep point to you!

What was that button for before you did the mod. My FJ does not have that button.
Yeah i just got the button from FRY'S elecronics and painted after it was ready to be installed

Looks like it came right from the factory!! Question? Do you still get the same range with all the dash interfering?
Yeah i do still get the same range i thought i had lost some but i tested it and measured the distance with the extra remote i have and it is the same...about 125ft away from the door

The paint on that button matches very well. What brand and color? DEWFPO
Paint is just flat black primer...i liked that one because it does blend in better than just regular flat black paint...to protect it i also put a coat of clearcoat on it...no special paint i dont have the can anymore but i just picked it off the shelf at kragen...take the switch cover and compare it to the tops on the spray paint cans.

Re: Garage door opener...what do you guys think?

I could certainly use a "clean out the garage" button!
