Re: FJ weight at 4 corners

No problem! How did you weight it? I mean was it like on of those weight machines I see at the garbage dumps?

I find all this info interesting.

thanks, tchno

It's a pretty high tech unit used to weigh race cars for various reasons.
It's consists of a computer unit with 4 aluminum "pads" that are about 18"x18"x4" they all connect to the computer and weigh each corner of the vehicle as well as calculating %'s of weight through out the vehicle.
You can see more about them at their web site

Re: FJ weight at 4 corners

Thanks for the info. I really appreciated it! It is interesting to see the weight bias in the FJ. I am really curious as to why they put the gas tank onto one side.

Those weight scales come in handy in setting up racecars going on the track.

By leveling the truck with the 3" lift you remove weight from the front and place it at the rear. In theory this may increase rear traction some.

Was there a driver inside at the time of weighing or is it the full gas tank that's adding 200+ lbs on the left front corner?

I may have spoken a little too soon... I'm guessing a full tank would only amount to somewhere between 100-150 lbs, and I just noticed the difference between left & right front was only about 120-140 lbs... conclusion: no driver, right?

X2 on the driver weight. Hopefully that was how the measurements were taken, since mine always seems to have a driver in it when going anywhere...

Also, could you please explain what "Cross" means... Thanks.

EDIT: BTW awesome data!! Thanks. Now I just need to find out where the actual COG is (height wise, toyota shows it in two dimensions of the ground plane)
