For what it's worth I was told by a mechanic friend of mine who did work on my Supra that you need to disconnect the battery over night. Worth a try I guess it certainly won't hurt. BTW how would you know if it did get reset?

I just had mine reset yesterday. The chief mechanic at Toyota said that it will relearn in time on it's own, just not as fast as it would if you have the learned values reset (relearn ECM). After it is reset, they recommend that you drive around a while, varying speeds as you go, so it will start to relearn your gearing. That is why I believe this to be important especially when larger tires are put on.
Your performance and gas mileage are going to be better if you start from a clean slate in the computer memory.

Dear Dragon...Happy Holiday
I have two question i hope you might have answers for.. I’m thinking of installing the TRD Supercharge but i have heard that it will over heat the engine? Is that true? Second, after installing the TRD Supercharge, does the ECU needs to be reset/remaped by the dealer or it will learn its self.

What did the dealer charge for this? Mine sucks and I am sure that they are going to ask me what this is when I as for it? I had to explain what A-Trac was to there master tech yes A-Trac he said they have many systems on there cars and he can not know them all.

I would think that the computer would not need resetting after these minor mods.There is no difference in my milage or any other thing since my mods.A waste of time and money (imo).Now with the addition of a supercharger that is another story.The A\F ratio would be all out of wack without some kind of recalibration.
