Re: Manual Transmission Kinda Glitchy?

I really have a problem from a stop into first, and first into second. It is really starting to bug me...I am switching to synthetic tomorrow though.

Re: Manual Transmission Kinda Glitchy?

I am having the same problem. It's not just me because my husband has driven nothing but manuals for 15 years. Almost everytime we put shift into 3rd gear, you can feel the synchro rings hitting. Probably 80% of the time and it doesn't matter whether it's cold or not. We haven't had it but a a little over 2 weeks and my husband noticed it after driving back from SC where we bought it. It only have 7200k on it and everything else seems fine. 1st is a little tricky but it usually is in low geared manuals from my experience. I hate to take it to the toyota service if this is something that maybe fairly normal. All gears are different but this does feel a little strange.

30.000 miles and not a single complaint. It slides onto first from a stop with ease and shifts through every other gear like butter. I went to synthetic right away though. IF you add pressure toward the driver's side as you slide into first, it may slide right in like mine does. No fighting with the stick here. Weighted shift knobs help too if you are having problems. I love TWM performance knobs.

Re: Manual Transmission Kinda Glitchy?

the only grinding i get is when I don't press clutch in far enough, but I am so used to driving big trucks and only suppress clutch in far enough to move shifter
