Paint to match OEM Roof Rack

Here's a piece of information that may be useful to some of you. If you need a paint that matches the finish on the Factory Roof Rack this is it:

Rust-oleum Textured Black Spray Paint (rattle can). Stock number 7220

Here's a link to the product:

http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=27

I machined some clamp blocks for a special set of cross bars to go on the factory rack. This paint looks exactly the same as the finish on the rack.

Here another product I found. I have not tried this one out, but it looks like it could be something for those who are "Blackout Fiends".

Textured Paint For Plastic:

Re: Paint to match OEM Roof Rack

Palsti Coat Textured black is also a good match (sandable primer & paint)

Re: Paint to match OEM Roof Rack

Ironically, this is what most people are using to black out their FJS, I used this on all of my trims, the only problem is it has a "tough" texture to it...much like Line-X, if you rub a microfiber towel or try to clean it with anything, it will tear the cloth apart.

Re: Paint to match OEM Roof Rack

Good Info here, the textured paint seems more durable but sucks when you dry it after a wash. It grabs the micro cloth and cotton towels leave unsightly fibers behind! I have a new light bar to install and it does not match the OEM finish so I will try, use product type posted here.
