I travel on many country roads during the night or dusk hours so I am thinking of adding lamps to increase the distance viewing, but also to light up more of the side of the road for the sake of looking for deer. Obviously a lot of roof mounted lamps or off-road lamps are not for street use but the back country of MO and KS where I drive there is rarely law enforcement, much less that would care. My question is this: Are off road lamps not so ideal for switching on and off when there is head-on traffic as a regular highbeam or is it okay to do this as normal?
Good question-my PIAA's suggest that you don't turn on/off frequently and I drive as you do--on remote county roads where I need them. I, in fact did not connect mine to the high beam power feed, so they are on or off.
I am not a light guru and would like to get the opinion of those who are.
