I've looked at some other threads. But jeeze, hundreds of posts!
Attched pics. Got back from Moab last week, took a small hit in the right front bumper. Then today checking levels under the hood I spotted a fender bulge. My direct question is that since I do have damage to the front bumper on that side, will Toyota accept my claim or refuse it?
There are two types of injuries, accute and chronic. Accute being something that occurs rapidly while a chronic occurance takes time. That my friend looks like the direct result of the impact that occured. SDT(sudden deceleration trauma) or Rock poisoning as it may be referred to here on the forums. I doubt that the shop tech at your local dealership will find it hard to determine that the "bulge" was the result of your bashing the nose of the rig off the ground. Good luck to you.

Rotorhead, can you characterize the impact?
Was it head-on, and it stopped your forward motion?
Or was it just a bottoming-out, and you kept moving forward as the rock scraped underneath your truck?
What happened was that as I was coming down off a rock I got a bad angle. With brakes on I slid a couple of feet and contacted the front. Yes I heard the contact. I had to give it a bit of power, the front then drove off into the trail at a level attitude.
I can't help but think these things are connected. But other post say that the front bumper is attached to the frame and shouldn't move the fender.
This supports my contention that the flexing of the front section of the frame is excessive on the FJC (and other Prado-based Toyotas) and this is in turn damaging the inner fenders.
