I have two radiators... do you?

Ok I have what seems to be two radiators and I don't know why. One black one about 3/4" thick right in front of my bigger one. The front black radiator is about an inch or two smaller on all sides.

I also have a metal tube that angles down from the top right to the bottom left if you are facing the truck. I'll have to move it to put in my lucrum mount and winch (which I havent done yet). The winch is in but not plugged in.

Re: I have two radiators... do you?

Are you sure you do not have one radiator (for engine coolant) and one condensor (for the A/C)?

Easelman, another very little-known fact to many folks here is that the main radiator contains the transmission oil cooler as well. It's embedded inside. When you pull the radiator you have two lines going in and two coming out.

Re: I have two radiators... do you?

I have no idea what it was. So my guess is this is normal and not specific to my offroad package.

Do you know if its one big piece connected or two separate pieces?

The one in the front is the AC condenser. Be gentle with that tube when you reposition it. If you can get hold of a tube bender that would be good. If not make sure you bend it carefully with your hands so as to not put a kink in her or you're buggered.

Re: I have two radiators... do you?

Good to know becaue I put in a winch this weekend and had to unhook the metal tube from its front clamp and push it back.

Its loose and I'm not sure what the consequences are of that and if I need to rig a brace or zip tie it down.

The white plastic clamp that the tube was hooked into is supported by a black metal brace. I used this brace to support the aluminum tube after I moved it back. Just bend the horizontal piece up until the tube rests on it. You can then zip tie the tube to the brace. Make sure you wear gloves when you bend the brace. Also make note of how close the tube now is to the metal frame of the FJ. Look down about a foot or so. My tube was resting right on the metal. Not good. This tube is very thin and any movement over time on this metal and you wear a hole in the tube. What I did was used about a 6" piece of rubber tubing with a thin wall and put it around the aluminum tube were it rubbed on the metal.

Yes that works. I thought above reversing the white clip but was too lazy and just zip tied the tube to the brace. I think I'm going to redo it to use the white clip also. Love this place now I got more work to do.

At least one forum member installed a new front bumper and the AC line was damaged by rubbing against the frame. He had to repair/replace the tube and get the AC system recharged. Not covered by warranty. So, as others have said, protect that tubing.
