Exclamation The solution for those who have the slow site issues

log in as administrator.
download this to your desktop, http://www.swicago.com/funjunkie/hosts.bat
then right click it and choose RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR. Then it is done. The site is back to normal. Big Mahalos to SwiCago for dealing with me in PM's for 3 days to figure this out and Dragon for dumbing it down for my less than computer savvy ass.
If you want to do it manually without the download (which didn't work with me, Mabey because of Vista)

Go to your start menu
Click on "My Computer"
Click on "Local disk C"
Click on "Windows"
When it says that these files are hidden, click to show all files.
Click on "System 32"
Click on "Drivers"
Click on "Etc"
Click on "Hosts"
When it asks what program to use to open Hosts with, choose Notepad or word pad and click "OK"
Copy the info that Swicago wrote in his post, and paste it underneath the example and local host.

#These are the lines to add
127.0.0.1 pagead2.googlesyndication.com
127.0.0.1 as.ext-n.com
127.0.0.1 as.autoforums.com
127.0.0.1 dynamic.media.adrevolver.com
127.0.0.1 ad.doubleclick.net
127.0.0.1 m1.2mdn.net
127.0.0.1 view.atdmt.com

Close the window and when it asks if it should save "hosts", click yes.

Bump for the slow poke(s). I am sure there are others that can use this.

Dom just download the file and right click it and run as admin. save ya lots of time and frustration.

Sandabbe Sorry it didn't work for you. I'm not a computer guy so I don't really know much about this, I just know how slow mine was and now it's back to normal, mabey you have different issues. I do know that firefox runs faster than IE before I even did the change.

Re: The solution for those who have the slow site issues

I know the FJ appeals to a WIDE range of people, and I know that not everyone is "techie".

So I suggest this:

Firefox:
Firefox web browser | Faster, more secure, & customizable

plus this simple addon:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

After you are a full FireFox convert, you can go for bonus and try these:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2410
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1269

and I almost didnt list this one.. the ULTIMATE is time wasting:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/138
