Hey guys I just recently put a lift on the FJ(OME) added I would say around 3inches but it is new and should still loosen up, and had a quick question for all the experts
I went outside and got the factory jack out...put it all together to see if it would work......I actually got the back right tire up no problem....I have the factory 17 dunlops on there right now.
Wantto know if I go to 285s will the jack still work? I dont see why not as I got the 265 up a few inches and still had plenty of room to work with
I carry a couple 5 1/4" x 3 1/2" blocks I carry in back with my recover stuff to set the jack on. I don't know how well this would work if I'm not on a flat surface. If I'm off road, the Hi Lift should work.

Hi lifts are nice but a bit unstable, I'd reccomend getting a 4x4 block of wood for your bottle jack also, I have A 60" hilift but I only use it if I have to.

I also not a fanny of the hi-lift for changing tire. If you must use it because you are bottomed out and can't get the bottle jack under there, use the hi-lift and then place some "objects" of your choosing that are stable under the axles or front skid to let the FJ rest on (and not rest on just the hi-lift).
Your rear will be fine. But changing a tire in the FRONT will be a trick.
I use a 4x4 (or 2 2x4's stacked), but haven't done so since my OME+Toytec fronts were installed.
I'll let you know if a 4x4 block is enough. Should be if my math works out. (That-is 3.5" lift over stock...3.5" block of wood under stock jack. YES!)
