Need Trailer Hitch Bolts

Need to replace the bolts for the trailer hitch. (dont ask) The Toyota supplied bolts have a hex flange built in to them. Is a metric grade 8 bolt with grade 8 washer just as strong? Having trouble finding the flanged bolts. If you know how to get them, please let me know.

Re: Need Trailer Hitch Bolts

The stock Toyota bolts are grade 8.8 which is roughly the same as SAE grade 5. SAE grade 8 is metric 10.9. Either grade in a bolt washer combo instead of a flanged bolt is OK. Just make sure that the washers are also the same grade as the bolts and use locktite.

Yup, I'm using bolts and washers from Metal Tech. cor you can check harbour freight or tractor supply online.
