Hey guys, I'm trying to install the third outside nut (for those who have done the install I'm sure you know which one I mean) for the ARB fog light housings and don't see how you can get thet the nut started and tightened. I know that some just don't attach that nut...but for those who have how did you do it? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Josh
It was a complete wh0re to get that third nut on! I spent the better part of 3hours lying on my back with the nut pressed against a wad of duck tape, taped to the end of a flexible barbecue lighter. It was a lot of fun

Oh and I thank all of you for pointing out the fact that I will eventually have to take on this exciting adventure in patience again some day.

Good luck bud!

I would suggest you leave it off if others are doing it and they don't have issues with it. Trust me it'll be good for your heart.

Cheers

It's a nightmare and a poor design, dont even bother with the last nut, the turn signal/running light bulbs occasionally burn out, you don't wanna mess with the 3rd nut every time to need to replace one.

Re: Trick to install ARB Fog Light Housing??

I don't have those nuts on mine, either. But, it would be nice if the housings would sit flush against the bumper.

What I plan to do is to get about a foot of rubber fuel line, cram the nut into the end of it, then snake the hose up to the stud and get it started. Once that's done a universal joint, socket, and extension should finish it up.

It's on my list of things to do, just haven't got around to doing it yet...

Re: Trick to install ARB Fog Light Housing??

I wasted a bunch of time on this as well before giving up and going with just the 2. I agree about them sitting flush. It'd be nice if they were just a bit tighter but I doubt anyone but us would ever notice

Re: Trick to install ARB Fog Light Housing??

I left that 3rd nut off. I was able to keep the fog light housing flush so I was satisfied and don't want to deal with it.

Brazenhead, you and Birdman are the only two mortals to have EVER gotten that third nut on those mounts. And frankly that fact should now call into question your mortality. You may both actually be in the running for the title of "Highlander".

(so, yes, I gave up as well)

Gee thanks Matt! What am I, chopped liver?

As for the pictures I promised...the mosquitoes here are killing me so I try to only do things in the heat of midday and I've been at work all week. Maybe I'll get a chance on Sunday.
