Silverton, Colorado Video

Silverton, Colorado Video The area surrounding Silverton tells the story of the hardships experienced by the miners in the late 1800's and early 1900's. The video shows many items that were left behind, including old railroad beds, boarding houses, mill sites, aerial tramways and mining camps. Historic dirt mining roads connect Silverton with Ouray, Telluride, Lake City and several ghost towns in the area. Most of these roads are suitable for any stock 4 wheel drive vehicle (SUV) during the summer months and are not passable during the winter months. Follow along on an enclosed map with a group of 4x4s, including a Ford Explorer, Range Rover, Grand Cherokees and CJs, traverse this spectacular country. Some of the historic sites visited include: Imogene Pass, Tomboy Mine, Ophir Pass, Black Bear Pass, Alta Lakes, Animas Forks and Mineral Point. 72 minutes. Area map included with video.
