8/4 to 8/12

For those who just couldn't get enough of the San Juans...

I plan to be in Ouray 8/4 through 8/12 and would be happy to organize some runs. I've spent some quality time in the area and know the trails well.

NOTE TO THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE:

Please, please, please schedule this a couple weeks later next year. My company always has a global conference scheduled for the week after 4th of July. If you wait 2 weeks, you'll guarantee that all trails are open. Just don't schedule it on Jeep Week.

Somehow I think Ouray will kind of let you choose whatever you like next year (if you keep it in Ouray and there really is no substitute)

It looks like they are limiting the group size to 22 vehicles.

Not a really big group.

Interesting how they did registration...I would have driven off a cliff if we had done registration that was, with the amount of participants we had.... 30 something Ok....200 not so much.

Re: 8/4 to 8/12

Hey FJR, I'm thinking about doing some camping and flyfishing down that way about the same time.

Re: 8/4 to 8/12

FJR, I would be up for it. I was unable to make the Summit until late friday night. Really wanted to stay and do some more trails with some people.

My brother has one of those VW things, they are nice cars, and supposedly very good offroad, however, he won't take it anywhere that I come back with pinstrips from. Oh, when he found out how many we had at the Summit, he about fell over. He said the largest toureg get together he had seen was about 18. lol

Re: 8/4 to 8/12

Mongo & 5280FJ:

Sounds good. I'm not sure of my exact schedule. Let me know what your plans are. PM as necessary.

I finally have a week off and want to max out my FJ time.

I was also thinking of doing Mt. Bross again (all 14,172 feet of it--what a road!) and Mosquito Pass. I was also contemplating doing TinCup but that area may be bad (did you hear about the Alpine mud slide?).

I also wouldn't mind doing Medano Pass and hitting the sand dune.
