Re: 2008 Summit - Who Will Be Coming?

When limited to 8 vehicles that means per group right? they will do more than one run each trail each day right? So if a particular trail is filled one day you can go with another group, another day, right? Guiness should be called to for the most FJ's together, do a parade throught town even (only if approved by police/sheriff dept of course!), that would be cool to video 200+ FJ's cruising through Ouray!

I drove back straight through last year. It took around 25-26 hours if I remember correctly.
That's about how long it took us to get back.

Ya they do a 8 rig 30 min stager start. It worked out ok I now we got backed up on black bear and that stager diapered so we had 3 groups together by the switch backs plus some other non FJ groups.

When we rolled into town last year we had a 18 rig parade go down the main road, part of it is in the video thats on the T.T. site. I don't think 200 FJ's would fit on the main road lined up.

Re: 2008 Summit - Who Will Be Coming?

So it looks like so far a little over 200 people are saying yes, they are going. So, what is going to be the limit? Has that been decided yet?

Re: 2008 Summit - Who Will Be Coming?

I may have a conflict. There is a 100 mile MTB race that I am training for the same weekend in Breck. I have been having knee problems and if I am able to keep the knee working I hopt to be racing.. I may try to be there for the first 2 days.

200+ rigs with only 8 at a time on each trail? I hope there are a lot of trails!

Actually, it worked out fairly well last year with all the trucks out on trails. If you noticed you started getting too close to another group, it was time for a photo stop. Or lunch. We worked it out. Believe me, stopping anywhere on the trails there was a treat!!
