Everyone was making me nervous - since I made my reservation online...I just called and confirmed. We have their favorite cabin!
...yes Jason, T2 and Nookie - I have begun the "re-confirming"....
So you are the one that beat me to the cabin I had last year. I should have made reservations when the information about Summit II was in the early rumor phase. I made my reservation several weeks ago, but when I heard the only cabin with indoor pumbing had been taken, I opted for a downstair room in the motel.
I won't specifically list the cabin's name (but it is named after one of the passes many drove their rigs over). However, the lodging Katfish mentions is the Riverside Inn. For anyone wanting to take man's best friend, they do accept dogs and other pets. Also, it is the site of one of the two gas stations in Ouray.
Katfish, the cabin you reserved is clean and comfortable, even if a little on the small side. It has a screened in porch, kitchen, loft for the kids, and comfortable double bed. They made up my bed and furnished clean towels each day. The only downside is that it took a long time after sundown for the cabin to cool off, even with the windows open and ceiling fan running.

I know that there were several people that did camp last year and they booked ahead. Katfish, Shadow-Warrior and Terahex all camped
So did I, as well as VorpalFJ and some other folks as well.
Try the Amphitheater campground....do a web search to find it. Really close to town, nice place. That's were I'll be again in '08 (Silver w/ Colo. Plates & trailer).
