Brent and I and the Doberkids will be there again. Booked the BW this morning. The long wait begins! I can't wait to see more of Ouray.
guess I should have Brent update the avatar...

Did anyone form the east coast make it last year? How many days did the drive take?

I drove w/family (wife + 2 teen daughters) from Cary, NC to Moab first, then Ouray. Well worth every mile and I'll be doing it again next this year.

And...I put 4500 miles on mine to get there and back and I know others who did more than that. You will not regret it if you go, it is well worth the miles/hours to get there...
In spite of the lousy gas mileage, the high price of gas, the expensive motels along the way, my constantly rattling winch bumper, my aching bad back, and the time frame in which my FJ's inner fender aprons cracked, Ouray was still worth every one of the 5700 roundtrip miles that I put on my FJ from southeast Georgia and back.

What, they won't let you bring your FJ on the plane from PR?
Denver is a good day's drive - not all day, but the better part of one, assuming you take the fastest (not necessarily most scenic) route. I took a longer route last year, both going and coming home (I live near Denver).
They do let me bring the FJ, the problem is that it won't fit on my backpack !.
Re: Get Ready!! Official 2008 Summit Info Within!!

Summit II registration won't be available until after the first of the year (correct me if I'm wrong Jason), but the information listed is so you can plan your itinerary and make lodging reservations. The Best Western is on the south end of Ouray, at the base of Red Mountain Pass. Here is the Ouray lodging information for all the hotels, campgrounds, and B&B's: Ouray Colorado :: Lodging
I suggest you make reservations now to get you place of choice.
