Does anyone know if anything more has been done on this? I'm wondering if there will be any type of CB and/or HAM base station setup at the Summit HQ for issues during the day?
if a 2m base gets setup i have a 2m radio and 200w amp that can be used for it, i may also have a HF radio that can handle the 11m band as well

I just wonder if there will be any HAMs around base camp. Maybe someone should talk Kat into getting her license before then

Re: FJ Summit 2008 Radio Communications Thread

Um....CB will work..... It is a GREAT idea and we do want to get the HAM thing going someday.....but I don't think I'll have time to get the studying and license thing done, and I don't think we'll have the funds to get the set up by then!

Gosh people, let me have a baby here!

I can be available as a "base station" at the Best Western, but i'm not sure CB's will get that far....

Thanks for thinking of me though....

Folks, is it possible to run CB comms through a 2m repeater? I've got a dim memory from my studying that cross-service retransmissions aren't kosher, but I could be wrong?

Re: FJ Summit 2008 Radio Communications Thread

X band is possible, but not on those frequencies. Even if it's legal, I don't know of a setup that would do it.
Anyone?
