i added to the OP that the General Simplex Freq for the summit be

General Simplex for the Summit: 447.150

if there are better suggestions let me know...

Sounds good to me as long as everyone has dual band radios. We might want to pick a 2m simplex instead.

it has all the APRS stuff built in, i think thats why

Slightly on topic, Shane, MountainMan, (or others), I've replaced my Fjammer with a 1 din HU, would any of these models you listed fit in the other 1 din slot?? Just a thought...

custom job but yes, the 7800 is less then 1din tall, most of the radios (mid-range +) now all have remote mount faces, makes for mounting them easier
