I need some Info on the Ouray KOA Campground. I hoping to find a map of or get some feed back from anyone who has camped there. I made reservations today to tent camp and the only spots left to camp in were the ones that said "Tenting in the mountains is awesome!! Fresh air with the best view of the mountains. For an exceptional camping experience, you may opt for one of our great streamside Kamping Kabins.". I just want to get an idea where we will be in relation to the whole KOA campground...Thanks
Hahaha, I had the same thing when I reserved there. I think I had to choose between "Camping is kool, yea!", "Wow, the view here is awesome. I love kamping and KOA! woohoo!", and "Colorado is such a beautiful place, I wish I could kamp here all the time! Yea, peace! Righteous!"

Something there is that doesn't love a wall, that wants it down...
My step-son (10yo) and I camped there last year, it was great. Nice to have a showering facilities, small convenence store, and a cafe on site (for when you don't feel like cooking--I always cooked though). This year I am hotel'ing it, my wife and 3yo son are coming. Decided to travel lighter this year.
KOA is about 2 or 3 mi North from downtown Ouray.
Word of advice, watch out for the deer... I had three run out in front of me, one within inches(had to lock up the brakes), and one decided to stroll through the camp and see what's up. btw, these aren't Texas Deer either.. maybe Texas deer on steroids, twice the size...
I had reservations there last year, but due to vehicle problems never used it. They were very nice in refunding. I have booked reservations there againg this year. They actually have sites large enough for my trailer. Looking forward to staying there this year.
Believe it or not... I still have my KOA Kampground map from last year. Yes, I need to clean up more often, I'm just surprised it wasn't still in the FJ.
Edit: if you need a higher quality image, PM me an email and I can send full res image/PDF.

HA! I just found the pamphlet for when we visited box canyon falls....it's still in the truck. As well as the trail team map holder with the agenda and all the trail maps.........
I think the point of the original post was to say that when the reservation is placed, they don't give you a number for where you will be camping. All I know is "Tenting in the mountains is awesome!! Fresh air with the best view of the mountains."....
Do you not get assigned a specific spot until you get there?
