I just remembered that I will be drafting off of Matt07fj and Tn squire so my mileage might go up some..... and if I spend too much on the way there I might "break" something and make one of them tow me back. he he
After we put all of our luggage, tools, Makayla's bike and the Kid's Raffle Mdse in your FJ. You might be getting 10 mpg.

If you break, I'll let you use my AAA card for a tow.

I'm going to start digging in the back yard now and hope I strike oil before the summit.

Actually, the Woodsman is the Craftsman. My brother is the outdoorsman. . . camps with only a tarp, eats all sorts of plants and sh!t, carries a friggin' truck on his back when hiking, etc. I have another brother (in the military) but he is far too argumentative to bring along to the Summit. He is always right though.

Re: How much $$ in gasoline will you spend for the Summit?

OK, I found the envelope with my receipts from last year's trip. I added them up and I think I'm missing one or two receipts based on the dates, so I'll tack on another $70.00 to my total receipts ($615.00). And we traveled from Atlanta to Columbia, TN to Hot Springs, AR to Oklahoma City to Amarillo, TX to Sante Fe, NM to Ouray. Then on to Moab, back down to Durango, CO, back to Amarillo, Little Rock and then Atlanta = 4275 miles. Two weeks on the road from 7/7 to 7/21.

Rounded total $700.00
Avg $/gal paid = $3.19/gal (regular or mid-grade selections)
Total gallons purchased = 220 gal
Avg MPG = 19.43 (wow, not bad!)
And by my math, that works out to just over 16 cents/mile.
