Re: How much $$ in gasoline will you spend for the Summit?

I'm looking at 3,000 miles including MOAB after the Summit. I'm figuring around 250 miles a tank @ 12 tanks x $72 a tank = $864 dollars. I guess, I'll be looking at about $1,000 dollars in fuel, Hotels, Food & Drinks, etc. I'm looking at $3,000 for the trip. Damn, there goes some MOD money!

But, meeting everyone and hitting the trails is worth every penny!

From New Brunswick to Ouray....2646miles.....one way!!!.....I am thinking Summit will have to wait for me and my FJ. I was told by the girlfriend that I GOT the FJ and she gets a road trip to Key West next christmas.....oh well.....

Upside....I got the FJ.
My brother the outdoorsman owns 96 acres up on Cape Breton Island near Maboo. Sounds like a road trip in your direction will be in order one of these days.

Well said. Chock one up to life experiences being more valuable than material assets.

Re: How much $$ in gasoline will you spend for the Summit?

Well I have a fuel budget currently at $2000, hotel, camping, food and misc not sure about yet...
but then again we are talking 24 days of travel and going from Phoenix > Prescott > Las Vegas > Salt Lake City > Spokane > Canada > Continental Divide Trip (incls. Glacier, Yellowstone, Teton) to Ouray > Back on the Continental Divide > Mexico > Douglas > Willcox > dirt roads back to Phoenix....still figure'n the miles but somewhere between 5000-6000 total.
Anyone want to come with me??

No matter the cost I look forward to telling half the story while at the Summit and showing half the pics

Re: How much $$ in gasoline will you spend for the Summit?

You're all wrong !

The correct answer to the topic question is . . . "I don't know but I am pretty confident that it will be more than I am expecting to spend."

I might catch up to some of you if I get to Ouray and realize I forgot my toothbrush and have to go back home to get it.
