Snow...

I just want to throw it out there, but SW Colorado is getting hammered this winter. I wouldn't be surprised if it is an issue for the summit. Something to think about...

you low landers and new comers may have a hard time believing, snow in July...but it will be there.

Wolf creek which is in SW Colorado has over 400" on the year with Feb-April usually being the months to get snow...

So, how much snow have they had? What has the temperature been like?

If it's an issue and some of the trails are closed, we'll just have to concentrate on exploring other trails that aren't on our list. Keep your fingers crossed though.

I know Black Bear didn't open last year until July 14th, the first day of the Summit. It might not be open this year when were there.

My biggest concerns are Black Bear & Imogene. I think the others will probably be open, but those 2 had the most snow last year.

Everybody bring shovels Over 500 people shoveling can make pretty big dent in some snow - lol

My concerns also...we will find trails...but some like black bear will probably be closed hey maybe we can go snowboarding in Telluride while we are there

finding trails isn't my concern....
letting people know they might not be doing black bear was what i was after.

I'm bringing my skis to do some back country. Hero snow in July!
