I stayed at the Box last year. It was a little warm during the day ( you won't be spending much time there during the day. ) but perfect at night with the windows open. the people running the place are great, the hot tubs ( hot springs fed) are a nice addition. You'll be fine!

Re: Box Canyon+No A/C=Unhappy Cashnutz???

That's about the way I remember it too, after Sandy refreshed my aging memory. The little old window AC in our room hardly put out any air and sounded like it might just fall out at any time, but it was enough.

I think it all depends on what one is accustomed to. A read one post here in which someone from AZ said they kept their AC set on 90 in the summer. They might actually be cold at Ouray in July. LOL .. Ron

Box Canyon is on top of a hot spring ya know. Granted nothing too bad, just a fan would have done just fine.

Well, we camped last year, but HEY, it was a bit chilly at times! And a nice relief! I'll be in the house pretty soon with a tiny baby that shouldn't be in the sun and extreme heat, we will be waiting for this trip!
