Granted this will be my first trip to Ouray this year, but if the town's elevation is around 8,000 feet, it shouldn't be too hot. I live in the Sierra Nevada at 6,000-7,000 feet and summer is barely getting started in the mountains in July. And the way things are looking, I expect to see some snow fields around some of the trails. I say make sure you have a fleece or a sweatshirt packed for when the sun goes down.

Warm to near hot during mid day sun, cool at night. This was from around 10:00AM on July 2nd. Snow on every peak surrounding Ouray.. Ron

Every day was the same, for the entire week of the 4th.. During the 4th. celebration/games in the middle of the day, we got quite sweaty and sunburned. Repairing my windshield a couple of days later at 1:00PM, it was just too hot to be outside. All the while, inside was cool without AC. Of course the air temp was always cool. It's a little warmer down around Montrose and Ridgeway during the day. There was still snow on the peaks and through Ralph Lauren's ranch when we headed to Moab on the 7th. Ron
PS: Box Canyon Inn is also way down at the bottom of the hill.. A lot of shade.. and Amish/Quakers/Mennonites when we were there. They stick together like a Jeep club, but ride around in the big tourist buggys. Looks very funny mixed in with the jeep convoys..
EDIT... Sandy (wife) says we used the AC in the afternoons that we were in, but I don't really remember it being hot inside the room. We were upstairs in the Christmas House B&B and the windows don't open.

Very hot on last July (week of the 4th.). During the annual firefighter hose fight, people were running for the over spray.. LOL.. Just the sun/altitude and only during the afternoon.. It was cold at night, but we "sat" out late on the evening of the 4th. watching the parade and fireworks, in shorts. Ron
PS: I though about posting a pic of "sunburned and hot Sandy", but thought better of it. Ya-all will have a great time.. Just remember to get "supplies" before you go in.
Water fun
Our AC
