Re: Ouray County Sheriff's Departments New Ride

You just know the summit is the reason why they got 'em..

No american town/county will go import unless its for a dang good reason. (The summit probably brought big cash to that city, so why not partake in it??)

Re: Check out the Ouray County Sheriff's New Rides

How do you guys think they will use them? Are they for regular patrol work? Seems it would be hard to load perps into the back.

Or is it mainly for snow and trails?

I think the Ouray Crips gang is pretty hardcore, man. They'll need at least some dental floss webbing between the front & rear seats...

Hard to miss too that it's also a great choice in vehicles for all those Jeep (I mean FJ) roads.

I mean really....capability is there, gets better gas mileage than my Liberty did (and I imagine it's probably better than the Wrangler too), style and comfort....if the Japanese can make a better vehicle, who cares? Even municipalities have to LO4#1.

Of course, I'm partial to the color.
We'll be in Sandi, the unmarked Ouray patrol vehicle.

Re: Check out the Ouray County Sheriff's New Rides

Saw one in between Montrose and Ridgway right around the State Park entrance...

Bad ass, very visible. Was doing a regular traffic stop with State Patrol.

Should be interesting to see how the hold up.

I would like to see the interior and how they put radios and control boxes in...

I can say that the FJ is FAR FAR superior in the snow than our wrangler every was throughout its buildup (stock, then 4" lift, then atlas, then currie high 9s with ARBs)

Much better suited to the terrain and roads around Ouray.

Now if I could get rid of the dumb stupid geezer Ridgway town marshal who sits at the bottom of the hill in the 20mph school zone..... taxing the tourists basically.
