If anyone needs a babysitter, our daughter would be interested. She has been sitting for quite awhile now and helps me out. She will be 17 in Sept.

She is TonysBluePrincess on the forum...

This is an important point that I mentioned to T2.

It presents an alternative to the Kid Convoy.

Our kids would prefer to stay in town and just play with all the other kids.

A babysitter would let all the parents go out on the regular runs and have some kind of supervised situation in town.

We could also do both.

Re: Kid Convoy

We will travel a long distance to get the Summit and our kids 1 and 3 years old will be on the back seat all the way.
We and our kids will be glad to join a kid convoy.
I will follow up this thread.
Best regards

Re: Kid Convoy

We (mom and dad) are all for it. Our 6 and 8 year olds are up for it too. What the heck, even the dog thinks its a great idea. Any of the days would be fine. We're not too sure about the babysitting idea, but are considering it.

Re: Kid Convoy

Carlos, Moontine and Celtic got you all on there.

About Celtic's concern about the babysitting. Me too. But I'm just the one who floated the idea.

I have not been there before, but I'll bet we'll get plenty of advice on where to leave them and who wants to supervise. Like, the park - where there will be hundreds of FJ'ers anyway. In general Ouray looks to me like the safest possible situation for my 6 and 8 year olds.

Right on, I may roll with you folks if you don't mind, Originally I was to go with Jeshuas group but they are gonna proably want to blast through alot quicker. I got a 4 year old and a negative 2 month old on this trip, so the kid and the wife are gonna be an issue, I'm thinking training potty. lol
You are more than welcome to come with us. We will most likely split the DeMello group in two faster guys in the front and slower people in the rear. What worked well last time is just keeping a steady pace with the group and if you had to pull off inbetween teh scdhuled stops then you did by your self and just caught back up with the group at the next stop or driving a little faster.
