NM smog laws?

I would like to de-smog my 1980 FJ40, which is perfectly legal here in Texas, but we are in the (slow) process of building a home in rural Santa Fe County and expect to move there permanently in a couple of years when it's completed. From a Google search it appears that Albuquerque/Bernalillo County is the only place in the whole state that requires any emmissions testing at all - can anyone confirm if this is indeed the case? Thanks!

Re: NM smog laws?

As far as I know that is correct.

Re: NM smog laws?

Great, thanks.

De-smog is in progress; I'm taking my time to carefully remove everything intact in case I ever need to put it back on, but I really doubt that I ever would.

Not much of a visual here either. Really just to see if you have cats and a tail pipe sniff.
