HAM Tech Class at CNM

If anyone is interested, CNM is offering an amateur radio technician level course scheduled from Monday-Friday 5:30-9:30pm from March 2-6 at the Work Force Training Center, Alameda and I-25. The cost of the class is $79. The class itself will run Monday through Thursday with the test on Friday. For further info contact:

I am planning on attending if my work schedule will allow. The next scheduled test in Alb. is the 3rd Saturday in April.

Rick

P.S. Paul, you and I get a 10% discount as CNM faculty.

Re: HAM Tech Class at CNM

I would encourage all that can to attend. Getting your tech license allows you to have much better communications when in remote locations. Also in times of emergencies. You can pick up a new handheld 2 meter radio cheap. With this you can talk via repeaters all over, even link to internet and make phone calls.

Yes I still use CB on the trail to talk to other vehicles in the group. But now can talk to people on the other side of the mountains or at the base camp.
