NM Trip - Mid September, 2009 N-S offroad

Over on ExpeditionNewMexico.com is a guy planning this trip, he is from Calgary Canada below is his post. I'm planning to meet him in Aztec NM on Sept 14 and head south towards the Gila staying to dirt roads & back roads.
He has asked if anyone is interested in going for all or parts of the trip. He has the route plotted and will be coming down in a diesel Land Cruiser for the trip. I'll be in my FJC towing my M416 trailer.
I can send the gps file (you will need mapsource & Garmin GPS to use it)

Planning a trip to New Mexico Sept 14-20+ (tentatively) following my WY/CO trips and the Utah Traverse trip in early September. I have created a Google map NM Trip - mid to lateSeptember 2009 - Google Maps for the places I want to go to and will update this map as I get my research done. Primarily it will be from Aztec, NM southerly on the west side of NM through various Indian historical sites on the west side of NM to Gila, NM and then east to catch the southerly portion of the El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro and then drive this historical trail north but mostly off pavement and camping the entire trip. I have a GPS file I am building of the trip but it is too big (GPX) to post.

Hoping a few of you can join me for some or all of this trip. Perhaps you can suggest other things to do/see along the way.

Now, once the Trans Utah trip is finalized I can give you some firmer dates and then we can hook up at a place convenient for everyone.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I'd love to go but I'll be hunting the week before. There's no way I can swing two continuous weeks of vacation.
