We went out to explore the Otero mesa yesterday. The Otero Mesa is a 1.2 million acre area in the south of New Mexico.
We entered off of Highway 54. 3 Jeeps a FZJ80 LAnd Cruiser & my FJC. Three vehicles were there for the day only Me and a friend from Alamogordo camped out and went deeper into the Otero exploring the back country. We split up around noon with him heading north on NM 506 & me on CR-001.

Did you get to the mesa via 506? I have been wanting to go there but have only been wheeling 17 miles east on 506 and North to the hills. Great pix.
