AfterMarket Bumper

I was just wondering, how much does an aftermarket bumper weigh compared to the stock bumper. Heres a link:

Re: AfterMarket Bumper

Do a search on this forum for Road Armor before you buy one. I got screwed by them along with others on here. I'm not going give my story again, but there are better options out there offered by forum vendors. To answer your question though, between 75 and 150 lbs and that one is at the upper end of that range

Re: AfterMarket Bumper

Here is a short video and write up on the differences between the shell and tube style bumpers. FJC Bumper discussion. It may help.

I've run both the on my rig and don't forget a winch is a significant amount of weight as well hanging out on the front end....

Asking questions is what this forum is all about... don't worry about it... all of us had lots of questions one time or another... Anything we can do to help. Just give a search on about any FJC or Wheeling topic and you'll find lots of good info.

Re: AfterMarket Bumper

No need to apologize, were here to help out our fellow riders despite a few here and there that have nothing but negative things to post up.
When deciding on a bumper, we looked and considered all types of bumpers but ultimately decided on Metal Tech tube bumpers (will get the rear one also) To be honest with you, I kind of didnt like the tube bumper at first until I was able to see it in person. I met Mark at his shop and was sold from that point on. Weight was a big thing for me and I didnt want to add a 100 lb bumper plus a 100 lb winch, just doesnt make sense to me. Good luck on deciding, happy trails!
