I have the M/T and have had and have full time 4x4 (work truck is an H1) but can't feel the difference in this little FJ. I test drove both AT and MT and could not tell the difference. The MT shifts so sweet but I do understand some people don't like to shift.
I actually like shifting, but in a sports car. I have a BMW and an Alfa Romeo for that. Shifting a truck just doesn't seem the same to me.

Parrothead,

Order the convenience pkg, and the rear diff lock. The passenger arm rest goes on in 30 seconds, and you can get it cheaper from the parts dept. you can add A-TRAC with just a switch. I put aftermarket 16" wheels and tires for a lot less than the factory TRD 16" wheels. I also added aftermarket sliders for less than the factory rock rails .

What dealer are you working with?
Menlove Toyota due to the fact that the owner, Wes Johnson, is the nephew of a friend of mine. I don't know Wes but I do know my friend will be offended if I didn't go thru him. Otherwise I don't have a preference since I haven't owned a Toyota since about 1980.

If you want the Multi-Info thingy, you need to do the package...

For off road, the AT is the way to go. I was wishing I had it this weekend...
