The best place is down the driver-side. There is a plug in the firewall on the driver-side aft of the battery that works well then run it down and along the door threshold.

You might need to ream the hole in the firewall a little if you use a large gauge wire.

See pictures of my install:

Here are some more images:

Assuming you route the RCAs under the center console, routing the power along the door frame works best because you want to keep the low level signal (RCAs) away from the high power sources (Power wires and speaker wires), in order to minimize introducing noise.

Correct. A four gauge wire or smaller should fit fine. What you see in my pictures is a 0 gauge wire. I am running a 1200 watt amp under the driver-side and a 600 watt amp under the passenger-side thus the big wire.

What most people, including myself do is install them in the panels in the rear seat area and just disconnect the factory speakers in the rear pillars. Wicked CAS sells a pod adapter for this if you don't want to fabricate your own.

If you are installing 6x9s, you may not need it but, they also had a front pillar pod

I might also point out that if you buy the speakers and the pod from them, they give you a really good package deal which goes a long way toward offsetting the added cost of the pods.

If you are installing an amp under the seat, then yes, you will need to install new wires to the speakers. The best way is to run it through the door grommet. Its really easy. Here is a thread that shows pictures of a door speaker installation.

You should not need to cut anything (other than maybe a hole in the carpet)
