2014?

I've become obsessed with getting an FJ! I posted an Intro. I don't really need an FJ, but I think it would be so fun. I've been testing out both 2007s and 2013s. 2010s are the same price as a new one, so not even looking there. Anyhow, the 2007 is actually nice and the engine in those has really nice low end torque that makes it more fun to drive around town. The 2013 felt slightly sluggish compared to the 2007. That's just my experience. But can't get a 2007 with under 50k miles for less than $23k so I'm thinking of splurging for a freshie 2013. This will be more money than I wanted to spend, but excited. Problem is all of a sudden I got worried that 2014 was going to be a complete redesign with a hybrid engine or something way better ... resulting in my 2013 purchase being quickly outdated. Is this a rational fear? Any thoughts or real knowledge on the 2014? Glad I've posted this in the flame free zone. Thanks.

Re: 2014?

Don't know about any updates for the FJ but I went new for the same reason. Love that new FJ smell too! GL

Re: 2014?

I don't think there will be many changes from 13 to 14. Usually a color change. I would not hold my breath for a hybrid version either. won't happen.

Speculation on the 14 already?! j/k

Either:

1)Buy a 13, and buy a cement. Most of us drool over it and envy anyone who gets one. Stop debating and step up!

2)Buy an 07 low mile FJ out of state and road trip home. There are ****loads of FJs out west. I got my loaded 07 MT 4x4 with 41k miles CPO for $20k out the door incl tax, title, license plates almost a year ago.

Changes for 14 unlikely with the supercharger only being 6-9 months away. Biggest change may be a factory SC option.

I doubt there will be any changes at all look how few changes they made to this car over the years.

Get a brand new 2013 cement grey if you ever change your mind this car has best resale and you have nothing to worry about

Re: 2014?

Get the 2013. My wife's nieces' step-uncle's sister-in-law's twice removed by marriage cousin-in-law told her that the 2013 FJ will be the last year they're made. And this person is a very reliable source whose mom happens to work at Harbor Freight and gets all the automotive news from smart people.

Haha! Have you played the telephone game before?

Out West. I'm in Cali, pretty West. Something happened, 2 years ago you could get a 2007 with low miles for $20k. For some reason they went up. They are now $23k, the only ones less than that have 80k plus on them.

Okay, and colors ... Cement? I was liking the Iceberg, but just saw the Latte and it's nice. A little darker than the old tan color.
