New FJ owner, questions about 4x4 operation

Picked a 2010 FJ yesterday from the dealer with the 6 Speed manual, i see the offroad shifter traditional pattern HL,LL, and have read the sticky around here , about VSC, Atrac, Trac, rear Diff and all of that. Damn back in the Jeep days it was just 4hi and 4Lo, haha, so the question i have is if Atrac was optional ?
In the center console, underneath the radio, i have the traction control (which i'll assume is Trac), and the rear diff button, but i have no A-Trac ? in place of that buttom, i have a blue led, like the ones you push to turn on something ? was that an option for Atrac in 2010 ? or just some sort of conection the previous owner did. I haven't try to push that bottom yet

then on the left side, where the side mirrors control is, i have VSC (which i think i read for Stibility control, and then a clutch start cancel buttom

I understand most of it, except clutch start cancel (this one is lid when we're driving), and why i don't see Atrac in my console ?

Thanks a lot guys. Looking forward to understand all this damn electronic controls

Re: New FJ owner, questions about 4x4 operation

shoot a picture of your switch console.

i dont think you can get rear locker without atrac. maybe the prev owner just changed switches. what lights up on your dash if you push the blue led?

clutch start is for manual trans. you can use that to bypass pressing the clutch to start the vehicle.

Re: New FJ owner, questions about 4x4 operation

You can get Read Diff lock without the A-trac. That's how mine came.
However the wiring is there and if you put a switch in it works.
Thanks again Cashnutz for selling me the switch!

Re: New FJ owner, questions about 4x4 operation

Thanks a lot of guys. i'll post a pic tonight when i get home. I 'll also check to see what lights up in the dash when i press it, and i'll also try going to LL and pressing the switch to see if it's the switch for the A-trac. The manual is there but i didn't have the time to go throgh it yet, i'll also check it out tonight.

Re: New FJ owner, questions about 4x4 operation

Another question, looking in Wikipedia (for performance numbers, and the official name of the color i picked ), i saw that the 6 speed manual FJ comes with a permanent 4x4 system ? I'm sorry i'm not near the car to check the manual, so please bear with this newbie , is this a fact?, i thought this cars were 4x2 unless shifted to 4x4 ?
It says something about the 4x4 system to run permanently sending 60% power to the rear wheels and 40% to the fronts, so how is that different from using HL ?, I thought the difference in mpg ratings from the auto to the manual, was just because the trans ratio and diff final drive.
So were the 2010's and up different ? or do i have a full time 4x4 engaged all the time ?

Thanks again.

The MT FJs are all full time 4WD from 2007-now. There is no 2WD setting

You are in 4H automatically, and can switch to 4L or LL that change the gearing and the ratio of 4WD from front tires to rear tires..

Anytime! It's amazing the MT gets similar mileage even though its rolling in 4WD all the time. The all time 4WD is the main reason I bought mine

Re: New FJ owner, questions about 4x4 operation

I tried to push the switch, but the thing won't move, it seems it's only a led who knows for what.
Here is the pic
