Actually...I dont understand why a woman would even drive it.
It looks like a Hippo , and has absolutely no feminin qualities at all!
....
Women have become more complex and diverse. More of them drive and prefer HUMMERs, Vettes (insert other "muscle" cars, as well), 4X4s, pickup trucks, Harleys, etc than in the past. Some authentically like the HP, Speed, Off-road etc just like the guys, and some just go with fads for superficial reasons. Just like guys, huh?
when i purchased my fj last year, i thought it was the coolest thing that i'd ever seen...(btw, i'm sending this post from my husband's screen name..lol)...never once did i ever use the word "cute" to describe it...i refer to it as "mom's army tank" and i feel that it's one of those kind of vehicles that can be molded into whatever you want it to be...if you want it plain, keep it stock...if you want it to scream wild thing, the sky's the limit as to what you can do with it...it's all personal preference...when someone starts making comments, takem' for a ride, it always shuts them up or leaves them wanting more...lol....mine has a 3" skyjacker suspension lift, 17" dick cepeck wheels, 33" dick cepeck "crusher" tires, molded diamond plate applique, manik tail light guards and a nice decal in the back window that says " I understand the jeep thing, that's why i bought an FJ".
I don't know if I ever thought of any vehicle as being non manly, except for the cabriolet or bug and maybe a mini. I think most vehicles seem to be gender neutral.
Some say the FJ is a girly vehicle becuase of its bubble like shape. Many jeepers say the intials F.J. stand for "female jeep". Although I see a lot of chicks driving jeep wranglers where I live.
Personally I could care less what people think about what I drive. Doesn't matter what you drive some people will make fun just because they are haters, most are probably jealous.
I drive my FJ cause I like it and I like what is is capable of. It has decent horsepower, ground clearance and offroad capabilities equal to any other 4x4 vehicle. I will admit, when I first saw the FJ's, I did not like the way they looked. I was hard set on buying a H3. Over time the FJ look grew on me. I love my FJ now. I would say it is more manly than my honda accord I traded in.
The majority of FJ's that I see on the road, which is not very many where I live, are driven by guys. My neighbor drives an Xterra and I think he is jealous of my FJ. He parks his near mine a lot, I think he is posturing and is intimidated by my FJ
In the area where I live many people drive audi, bmw or lexus, so know one really pays attention to my FJ anyway.
If your not feeling manly enough about your FJ, just go offroad and drive over some stuff, that will make you feel more manly.
