Picked up my new FJ last night in a snow storm and woke up to -9F. I guess I'm breaking the SnowCruiser in right.
On the way home, I noticed the low beams go off when the high beams are in use. Has anyone here modded their FJ so that both come on when the high beams are in use.
I know I can add aftermarket lamps but the high/low mod could probably be done quickly and cheaply. I live on a dark county road that is long (5.2 miles) and full of wildlife, I need all the light I can get at night.
Sorry if this has been asked before, if so just please point me to the appropriate therads. Thanks

Re: High beams + Low Beams........ At the same time.
I'm guessing that the heat produced from powering both filaments at the same time will greatly shorten the life of the lamp. Additionally, Toyota designed 10 amp fuses for the right and left sides ,and powering both filaments together may excess the amperage rating.

Not sure about the Toyota, but my Durango had a light switch that I could manipulate into the right postition and run the high/low beams and the driving lights all at the same time. Never experienced excess heat (that was my concern as well) and never had any electrical issues.
