saleman grinding my gears

picked up car on thrus. not in best frame of mind due to medical issues.
saleman took fj to service area to take off the alarm dealer had put on. while he was at the curb and i inside watching i heard this grinding sound like with a manual trans and not having clutch depressed all the way, but mine is an auto 4x4. he did it twice and then a couple other sales guys came over to help him out. i did not say anything at the time as i was more concerned about my medical problem then the grinding gears. my head was someplace else. on fri. i sat in my driveway and fiddled around with the 4x4 gear shift putting in gear moving to 4L back to 4h,etc. had no grinding sent him an email and asked him what he had done and if there was a potential problem with the trans. he replied that the grinding must have happened when he was checking out to may sure 4x4 worked and that there was no problem. my ? is is there aproblem? i have very little knowledge of cars

Re: saleman grinding my gears

Mine had a little grinding when shifting the 4x4 modes at first. It's just really new. I wouldn't worry about it unless it continues.

Once I got used to how my shifter worked, All was well. Just make sure it's in neutral when you try to shift to 4 lo and back.

It is under warranty so if you have mechanical issues you can always take it in.

He didn't let it get in sink before shifting, no biggy. But you would think he should know this, they hire anyone anymore.

Perhaps English isn't his primary language . Unless you have something constructive to add , why post ?
