Re: FJ OWNERS! What dont you like about your FJ?
As the FJ gets more popular and more non offroaders want it, I am sure Toyota will respond with leather and auto seat adjust (what is UP with needing that anyway? Are you gaining weight every day??) and sunroof and vanity mirrors and spinnner rims and massager seats and heated electronic ball scratcher and whatever else fulfills the deisres of manly men. LOL. We can all exchange our 2007s for the FJoyride of the next decade....
didnt read thru all the posts so hope i'm not duplicating here: wish the back windows pushed out for more air. other than that.......i dont care if i get terrible gas mileage or have terrible visability or have soft glass in the windshield, etc........i love my FJ!!

ARB FRONT BUMPER..bring it on!
Some modding suggestions for you P3rv3rs3!
1. Sawzall and acryllic!
2. You mean there's actually glass there?
3. Take the head rests out. They fold flat. Either that or have a fat guy sit on it!
4. No need for taillights if you stop using that brake thingy.
5. Do a few brake torques in a bleach box to burn them up! Good excuse to get some aggressive A/T's!
6. Remove passenger seat to allow room for more toys in cabin.
Hope these mild suggestions helped!
Hey Phil,
Im not gonna sawzall my roof. I cant even make a decent paper airplane.
My friend realized there was glass there when every time he tried to throw eggs at pedestrians it kept getting all over him.
Do you have one? They dont fold flat under any circumstances. Has this weird 45 degree hump where the seats join the floor.
I bought the TRD model. The BFG's came with mine, but I was just being considerate and thinking of you guys
I cant remove the rear seat. Where would my blow up girl friend sit?

Your teacher lied, there IS such thing as a stupid ass question.
I'll add my couple of minor complaints here, with the usual qualification of "I LOVE MY FJ!!!". *g*
Given that I live in Northern Ontario, Canada, and drive in cold weather a lot, it bothers me that when the defrost/foot option is selected (which it usually is), only the left-side vent spews hot air at a hand/steering wheel level. In my past cars (VWs), both left and right vents spewed hot air at the same time (to a lesser degree) when in this mode, thereby keeping fingers warm while clutched on the steering wheel. In the FJ, only my left hand stays warm ... meanwhile, my right literally gets frigid-cold and I have to resort to going back & forth between defrost & vent settings, which is a pain in the butt. (Note: I do wear gloves, too, but without warmth, I lose circulation in the fingers in my right hand at subzero - i.e., -30C - temperatures). This remains my biggest beef/annoyance with my FJ!
Other very minor beefs include the shared concerns about the windshield, although I am not a victim of that (yet). And I wish that the back door could be opened from the inside.
Otherwise, actually even with these annoyances, it's a great truck!!!

2007 Black Cherry 6MT - 'C' Package (ARRIVED Nov. 17 '06, ordered early Oct. '06)
Planned mods: moose-catcher (LOL: front bumper with full bull bar & lights), black skidplates
(probably Budbuilts), Gobi Stealth rack & lights, suspension with lift (either Allpro or Donahoe),
better tires with wheels (probably Destination A/T's), DIRT 'n' FUN!!
Jezebel, my 5MT 1997 VW Golf, was laid to rest. Tried 'n' true MT girl - LOVING my FJC!!
1) Biggest complaint is not the FJ, it's the dealers. The vast majority of us have dealer optioned FJ's. WTF do I need etched glass for? BBS wheels, etc.? TOYOTA....the delars are making a ton on the FJ without all of the option stuff we don't want but have to buy to get the truck...THAT SUCKS! I'd much rather have had standard side airbags than glass and wheels!
2) I can live with the mileage...give me a bigger tank! I hope some enterprising vendor comes up with a SAFE larger tank.
Note....To the owners that don't like the standard tires....Toy assumed most would change them out soon after purchase, that's probably why we have the Coops. Oh, my rear seat folds flat as a board with the headrests off the rear seat.
I too am almost 6'5 230 pounds, I have no complaints about this fjc, except maybe I could have bigger tires. Love this thing. told my boss I wanted one for my service truck he said no. just wish i had more time to spend driving it. nope I think Toyota did a great job, I didn't buy for luxury. I bought it knowing the design, if it gets muddy oh well, if it gets scratched oh well, I like the solidness, well sorry cannot think of any other downfalls, right now I just turned 5,000 miles.
Its 6 oclock pm, Im driving home from a long day.....Heading west and the damn sun hits you in the eye. Lets use the sun visor............swing it down towards the windshield. Seems to work great, but in my case, being a tad taller than 6 ft. the freeway visiblity dissappears. So you have to crouch lower to have a better prespective angle.
Okay now I start heading north and now the sun is directly at my left cheek, okay lets swing the visor.........not any help at all as the visor is way to short.
This is probably the worst design and problem in my FJ...........I would like to see toyota offer a replacement/mod for this problem, or some kind of recall, it just doesnt make sense to even use these sun visors........If this is a problem for you also, let me know what you've done for a safe mod.

Forgot about that menace too. I hate the visors!
But all in all, I, like others, love the FJ and forgive the engineers that fell short with the first year production model.
