Unhappy Why do Hummer owners and FJ owners have it out for each other?

Why does everyone have to fight?

Re: Why do Hummer owners and FJ owners have it out for each other?

I don't really care what anyone else drives. In fact I just drove my son's soon to be inherited 1999 Mazda protege today to a storage lot. It was a riot I still think it is a poor man's BMW. And I do miss that gas mileage!

because fighting is inherent to owning something we all think is the best. And with the FJ we are correct

Ignorance
that is all it is. If they would get off the kick of who has the better machine (honestly I could take either one and kick the others arse, both would outshine each other in certain places) and unite for Access rights issues, we would have trails in every state open to us, instead of fighting with Green groups over shutting them down.

Well said Highbeams. I'm really sick of the who has the best rig. I'm out there to have fun and I could careless what somebody drives. When it's all said and done we all want places to wheel.

Re: Why do Hummer owners and FJ owners have it out for each other?

I don't think most do. I do in good fun, no malice intended.

What its really about is perceived American products versus foreign manufacturers.

I think that is at the heart of most arguements and internet flames on most auto related message boards.

The FJ will probably outsell the H3 this year (especially if you discount the rental fleet sales) which adds fuel to the fire. If the Tundra does well...

Re: Why do Hummer owners and FJ owners have it out for each other?

Someone said that most H3 owners are mall posers and john jerks. I'm sure that some are great people too.

Re: Why do Hummer owners and FJ owners have it out for each other?

I agree with most have said above. I suspect that some Hummer owners view their vehicle it is a symbol of military support and that they bought an American product. This may explain some animosity felt by owners of the FJ Cruiser, X-Terra, and other Asian imports. I think there will always be some undercurrent of feelings between those that drive American rigs (GM's Hummer, Chrysler's Jeep, and Ford's Escape / future Bronco) and imports.

I'll bet it's worse for the full size truck owners than it is for 4x4 SUVs: American (Ford, Dodge, Chevy) versus the new Tundra. Mi dos pesos.
