Tire changing tip for new owners

Take out your tire tools, located in the compartment on driver's side rear. Open the tool pack and inspect the jack handle pieces. There are bolts used to assemble the jack handle. If your's are like mine, they are frozen tight by the factory paint. Take a screw driver or wrench and unfreeze them. This will save you much aggravation with your first tire change.

Dead on Waterdog...Never checked them but thanks for the tip. Much easier to free up in the garage than stuck somewhere unpleasant!

And be real careful putting the spare on the rear door. It's really easy to screw up the threads.

Good suggestion. Also, it's possible to use one of the jack pieces to unscrew the square headed screws, if you don't have a screwdriver handy.

I just got a flat tire last week on my way home from work.
At first, I was frustrated that my jack kit did not come with a screwdriver and I figured that Toyota must know better. Sure enough one of the openings in the extension fit over the screw head. I was back on the road within 5 minutes.
