G'day all! I'm moving back to the US in the near future and have my sights set on an FJ. The AT seems fairly comprehensive as far as offering L-5 gear range selection and takes the edge off commuter traffic, but my impression of a manual in an FJ is Fun + more Fun.
I've seen some threads about issues with the manual, are they going to make a 20-odd mile 40 minute commute a headache or are they minimal enough to ignore for an hour or so a day?
UPDATE: I guess I should narrow my question down, I've read there are 2nd to 3rd shift issues and I'm wondering if they are enough to make the MT a b*tch to drive in traffic where you're constantly up and down shifting...
Cheers

Reason: Clarification
I really wanted the manual, but couldn't get my hands on one when the FJ first came out.
However, I think with the amount of stop-n-go city traffic I'm in everyday with the new job... I would have gone out of my mind by now without my AT model.
I still would love to find a local FJ buddy and borrow a MT for a couple of hours, though...

If you EVER plan a SFA swap.....the MT seems like it will be less headache due to the sensors in the front end. Something I'd consider.....but may not make any difference to you whatsoever.

Had a MT for over a year now and have never found any issues with the 2nd - 3rd shift. The more I think about it I have had zero issues with any of the shift pattern up or down.

I've had the MT6 since last May and I drive mostly on 2 lane roads with traffic lights and I have never had any trouble. It is smoother than my 06 5sp Tacoma.

First is hard to get used to for some. I have some clutch issue right now but no answers. If you do a search there is almost TOO much infor in the auto or MT or both.
