Question Is it possible and how$$$ would it be to add options??

My fjc is not fully loaded, and there are some options that i would like to add like: the gauge pods [climate, elevation, time] and a tire cover. How much do you guy's think it would cost me to have these two item's installed by toyota or is it something that could be a DIY??

Tire cover is do it yourself and if you look in the for sale section there are usually some for sale cheaper than toyota. Gauge pods require changing the top of the dash and if you do a search you can find it. I think it was like over 1500 to swap out just for parts.

+1

If you want gauge cluster, then DO get it at time of sale and be done! And yes, that tire cover should be an easy find, especially here

Welcome!

Not to bash the Toyota dealerships and their prices, but before adding anything to your FJ, I would first search this forum for both better deals from the supporting vendors on specific items, as well as, detailed instructions on DIY installations.

Post-purchase items like trailer hitches, spare tire covers, the $45 A-Trac addon (for factory locker equipped FJs), roof racks, rock rails, skid plates, etc., can all be easily installed at home (saving you hundred$ off of the dealership installations). Not to mention saving as much as 25 - 40% off of the dealership prices of actual Toyota products when you buy from a reputable aftermarket company.

It's all right here.

If you don't find the tire cover here, don't forget to check Ebay. But more to the point why do you want to do that anyway. Trust me, it looks better without. Save your money for better speakers or a nav unit..

You sure you want to add the gague cluster?? Look at this thread and the pictures....Holy Crap Batman!!

Dashboard Swap

BTW, welcome and good luck with the gague cluster. As stated by many the spare tire cover is easy to come by.
